Citizens for Animal Rescue and Emergencies (C.A.R.E.) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), organization. C.A.R.E. has been "helping people with animal problems and helping animals with people problems" since 1973.
In recent years, C.A.R.E.'s focus has shifted from fostering animals to becoming strong advocates of spaying and neutering programs. C.A.R.E. provides financial assistance to low-income families for spay/neuter costs and veterinary costs. In addition, a free pet food distribution program is available with food primarily donated from other rescue groups and individuals.
C.A.R.E does not receive financial assistance from any local, state, or federal agencies. Our dollars are generated with yearly fundraising activities, grants, newsletter campaign (twice yearly), and with donation jars at various locations. All income solely funds this organization and its mission.
